Hi all,
My name's Mike Davies and I hail from Brighton. I have been aeromodelling in various forms since the age of 10 and am currently most interested in FF and indoor nano-sized RC helis.
Hi Guys, I'm Cliff Harvey and I live in Newton Abbot, South Devon, a fantastic place to live having coasts, fields and moorland all close by. I belong to three local clubs: The Torbay and District RFC, Exeter and District RCC and the Dartmoor Slope Soaring Club who also fly powered models. My interests are free flight rubber, rc fixed wing and slope, autogyros, thermal soaring, small scale models, indoor flying, I like to try my hand at most things as you can see! I enjoy building with balsa, foam and even cardboard. I also like to film my exploits both in the hangar/workshop and out in the fresh air and hence I run a YouTube Channel, 'Cliff Harvey RC Planes' in which I endeaver to spread my enthusiasm for model flying. Oh, I forgot to mention Round the Pole flying in the back garden with all of my rc micro models ... it got me through lock down, cheers.
@lobo "Do you ride?"
Off and on, pardon the pun.
I would like to get a Meriden Bonneville.
B.

@cliff Hello welcome to the forum, I remember seeing your RTP exploits during lockdown, very good.
I used to do RTP before I first flew control line, good times.

@pylonuk Hi Barrie, me too before control line, a cheap and exciting way into the hobby ... Harry Butler Models was the man in the know if I remember correctly. We went to the Model Engineer Exhibition at Earls Court one year and I recall a Lancaster rtp going around above all the stands in the hall ... a fantastic memory.
@cliff Harry Butler ran his business from Brockenhurst in the New Forest which is only about 8 miles from where I live but I did not know him. I built a combat wing style RTP model, I think it might have actually been a tailplane from a radio model, I called it 'Volts Lord' after the Warlord combat model.

Not sure if this will end up on the right page - it's just the requested "introduction"
Just an old (very) modeller practising most aspects of the hobby with limited success. Introduced to modelling in 1940's by father with scale rubber driven Aerocobra (spelling?) a Frog 45 with Frog petrol engine which never ran properly and a Veron freeflight glider whose name I've forgotten. The latter I remember being flown off the Berkshire White Horse hill. Progressed to Achilles, Ajax, all balsa "Three footer" glider Phantom control liner with Mills 1.3, Vandiver c/l with Frog diesel and Slicker Mite with Amco 0.87 mk.1. Modelling interrupted by 40 years of family commitments. Now into anything that has a chance of flying, fixed wing or rotary, free flight or radio assist. Secretary of WHMC and member of OMFC.
@pylonuk Meriden Bonneville? An excellent choice. What do you currently ride, off and on? I try to get out on the bike at least once a week - we have a regular bike meet over at the Pinewood Cafe and at Blackbushe Aerodrome. We also get over to the Ace Cafe on occasion - although not as often as we used to. I’m a member of TOMCC as well as TVAM.
Hoping to get some flying in this week - I’m a member of Maidenhead Radio Control Club. We’re lucky enough to have the use of a flying strip on farmland.
@lobo Last bike was a Ducati 900SL (single seat version of 900SS) but that was over 5 years ago.

Hi All.
I’m Richard (Dick) Whitehead, a retired Electrical engineer and a model flyer since my schooldays.
In the early days I flew control line but being an electrical engineer I wanted to get involved with electric flight as soon as it became practical, so in the 1980s I bought some radio gear and started experimenting.
Technology of all sorts fascinates me and over the years I have built or adapted a few electronic devices and also written Lua scripts for my Tx. I have also done a bit of FRP work including making my own glass/foam wings and moulding my own fuselages.
Mainly I fly just about anything for fun but have also flown competitively - Control line combat in the early days, and later some 1/12 scale RC combat, but in RC it has mostly been in the international F5B electric glider class and more recently I am getting involved in GPS Triangle Racing (lots of technology to play with!)
Hi all.
I'm Ron Gray, hailing from South Norfolk and am interested in most types of model aircraft having started off back in the early 60s. I have a love of Laser engines and love all new technology associated with our sport including CAD, 3D printing and most recently Laser cutting. Claim to fame is being Lawn Mower racing world champion (twice!) and used to have a side line business machining parts for that sport so still have 2 lathes and a milling machine left in my workshop!
@rong Ron welcome onboard, we look forwards to seeing your creations and ideas.

Hi , I am Shane Alce , from Peacehaven ( Gods waiting room) ... in Sussex. I have been an aeromodeller since the age of 10, and now in my 66th year. When I had to go to work I was a toolmaker, and then a design engineer, ( 3d cad ) for the last 30 years !
I fly Vintage freeflight and control line when I can, but my main interest these days is radio gliders, F5j, F5RES, slope and scale, also some power flying with the Eastbourne club.
Also into model engineering, and classic sports cars..
Hi Everybody
I'm Kevin Caton, an occasional presenter of ITAT sessions (one in Season 1 and one in Season 2) on the subject of RC Aerobatics (F3A) and model trimming & setup. I live in South Yorkshire on the edge of the Peak District, though I'm originally from North West England and lived in a few different places when I was working (notably Lancashire, Suffolk and Teesside - all great places with great model flying clubs). I'm a member of Huddersfield & District MAC.
I've been an aeromodeller since my teens and involved with RC Aerobatics for over 40 years, with 18 appearances in the GB Team (9 World Championships and 9 European Championships). I also dabble in short course pylon racing and I very occasionally fly a slope soarer too.
I'm happy to help anyone here with setup, trimming and precision aerobatics - just ask and I'll do my best to help.
