Are there any "hobby" A3 width printers that can print / plot a wing drawing on continuous - roll paper without paying the price of HP design jets or similar? Thanks

@robertdaw Hello Robert, not that I am aware of, what size ribs are you trying to print?

@pylonuk I'm guessing that would have to be a plotter as an A3 printer prints on an A3 sheet of paper.

@rong Yes Robert is looking for an economical alternative to a roll feed plotter. Sometimes you can tile prints and then tape them together. I see Robert wants to print out whole plans and I am guessing they might be big !!

Maybe Robert could use a bureau service, I just googled this company so don't know if they are any good but the prices seemed reasonable.

@pylonuk Thanks. Yes I am thinking about printing a section of a plan to build from e.g. fus, wing etc. not that wide but more than a sheet of A3. I remember when several home printers would accept banner paper as well as sheets but these seem to have disappeared. I had a look at the Cricut vinyl printer range that seem to also print on paper but reviews about CAD  printing were not very good in terms of importing CAD formats and plot accuracy. As you say joining several sheets could be an option and that approach I have seen used by Chris Williams prototyping his glider designs. I think C.W uses Illustrator for his 'cad'.
