LightBurn question

Hi All,

I was wondering if some one can help me with a LightBurn issue I have.

I'm cutting out some small ribs and end plates for and indoor rubber powered model for the school club I run.

The issue is that the ends of the ribs (cross grain) are either get burnt at a higher laser persentage or don't cut through if I reduce the laser percentage.

I have also tried increasing the speed but the same result.

Is there a setting in LightBurn that will enable me to get the ends cut as well at the top and bottem of the ribs.

I'm using 1/6th medium balsa.

Resin Printer your thoughts.

Gentlemen and Ladies!

I have started to look at a resin printer to supplement my FDM Ender 3 and I have a few questions for those that have one. I will be starting small and have in mind either the HALOT-ONE or HALOT-ONE PRO.

1. Cost of resin vs filament. Have you found it to be cost effective?

2. Ease of cleaning and preparation of the resin liquid tank.

3. Are the prints as strong as say PETG?

4. Is the smaller print area a limiting factor? I will add that none of my normal prints have ever taxed the Ender 3.

This CG balancer is such a neat idea and looks ace! Credit to Neil Pritchett for the design and Dana E. Hager for drawing up and offering the stl files, which can be downloaded here.
I'm printing the parts now, with a modification to the sides so that they are 20mm longer to accommodate the 4m f5j gliders.

3D printed aluminium crankcase

OK here is our latest 3D print project, it is a crankcase for a new pylon race engine, it was printed by an online bureau.

The material seems pretty good, going to have tensile tests carried out on some test bars to confirm the properties.

Usual caveats about ensuring print quality is sufficient and take precautions to avoid being close enough to get hurt if it fails as it rotates fast but designed to be as lightweight as practical and examples have worked well for my own use.
